Thailand Digital Arrival Card Requirements

Everything you need before completing your TDAC application, from passport details to travel information and accommodation.

Introduction

Thailand Digital Arrival Card requirements centre on the information travellers must provide before arriving in Thailand. The TDAC is a digital entry form, so the practical question is usually not whether you have a printed card, but whether you can supply accurate passport, travel, stay and contact details when you submit the application.

This page explains the Thailand TDAC requirements travellers should prepare for before starting a Thailand Digital Arrival Card application. Exact fields and Thailand entry requirements can depend on how you are travelling and may change when official forms or guidance are updated. Treat the list below as a practical preparation guide, and check official guidance that applies to your journey where your circumstances are unusual.

For a broader overview of the process, including timing and how VisaPal works, see the Thailand Digital Arrival Card guide.

Passport requirements

Travellers should have a valid passport available before completing a TDAC. The Thailand arrival card requirements ask for identity details taken from that passport, so the information you enter should match the passport exactly.

Enter details as shown in your passport

  • family name, first name and middle name where applicable
  • passport number
  • nationality or citizenship
  • date of birth
  • gender

Do not shorten names, rearrange the order or invent missing fields. If your passport shows a middle name, include it where the form asks for it. Passport validity rules for entering Thailand can depend on the traveller and journey, so VisaPal does not invent a single validity period here. Confirm the passport rules that apply to your trip through official travel guidance before you travel.

Travel information

A Thailand Digital Arrival Card application also needs journey details. Before you start, make sure you know:

  • your arrival date in Thailand
  • your departure date, where applicable
  • how you are travelling, including mode of travel and transport details such as a flight number or vehicle number
  • your purpose of travel
  • the country or territory where you boarded, where the form asks for it

Arrival date is especially important. The official TDAC submission window is currently within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. VisaPal can accept assistance requests up to seven days ahead and holds pre-bookings securely until they become eligible for official submission.

Purpose of travel should reflect why you are visiting Thailand. Common categories include holiday, business, education and other stated purposes. Choose the option that best matches your trip rather than the one that merely looks convenient.

Accommodation information

Travellers staying in Thailand should have their accommodation details available before submitting the TDAC. The form asks for the type of accommodation and the address information needed for your stay.

Accommodation types commonly include:

  • hotel
  • guest house
  • apartment
  • friend's residence
  • youth hostel
  • other stay arrangements where applicable

Address details VisaPal collects

VisaPal asks for the address required by the TDAC, including the local address fields needed for your stay in Thailand. Have the property name or host details, province and the rest of the address information ready before you begin.

If you are still deciding where to stay, wait until you have reliable details. Guessing an address simply to finish the form can create avoidable problems later.

Contact information

Contact details are part of both the TDAC requirements and VisaPal's ability to deliver your completed document. Travellers should provide:

  • a working email address
  • a telephone number, including the correct country code
  • country or territory of residence
  • city or region of residence where required

Double-check your email address carefully. VisaPal emails the completed TDAC to the address you supply. An email typo can delay delivery even when the rest of the application is correct. VisaPal's Privacy Policy explains how contact and application information is handled.

Recent travel history

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card asks travellers to declare countries or territories stayed in during the previous 14 days before arrival. Have a clear record of where you have been in that period so you can complete this part accurately.

Include stays that fall within the 14-day window rather than every trip you have ever taken. If you have not travelled elsewhere during that period, answer the form truthfully on that basis. Incomplete or guessed travel history is one of the easier parts of a TDAC application to get wrong when people rush.

Health information

Travellers should ensure they meet Thailand's applicable health or vaccination requirements where those rules are relevant to their journey. Health-related entry conditions can depend on circumstances and may change, so VisaPal does not invent additional medical requirements on this page.

For the TDAC itself, VisaPal currently collects the recent travel history information needed for the application. VisaPal does not currently collect vaccination certificates or medical records as part of the TDAC assistance flow. If separate health or vaccination checks apply to your travel, confirm them through official guidance before you depart.

Common mistakes

Most TDAC problems come from small data errors rather than missing an obscure rule. Before you submit, watch for these common mistakes:

  • Incorrect passport number

Passport numbers are easy to mistype. Copy the number carefully from your passport and check it again before submitting.

  • Wrong arrival date

Use the date you expect to enter Thailand. An incorrect arrival date can affect eligibility and processing timing.

  • Accommodation address mistakes

Incomplete hotel names, missing districts or inaccurate address details can create problems later. Enter the stay details you actually plan to use.

  • Email typos

Your completed TDAC is delivered by email. A mistyped address can mean you never receive the document.

  • Selecting the incorrect travel purpose

Choose the purpose that best matches your trip. If none of the standard options fit, use the option that allows you to explain your purpose clearly.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my hotel booked first?

You should have the accommodation details the TDAC asks for before you apply. That usually means knowing where you plan to stay and being able to provide the address information required on the form. If your arrangements are still changing, wait until you have reliable stay details rather than guessing.

Can I change my information later?

If you notice an error after submitting a VisaPal request, contact support as soon as possible with your application reference. Whether a correction is still possible depends on how far the application has progressed. Reviewing every field carefully before payment remains the safest approach.

What happens if I make a mistake?

Contact VisaPal promptly if you spot a mistake in the information you provided. We will advise whether the details can still be corrected before submission or before your completed TDAC is emailed. Some errors are easier to fix early, which is why accurate passport, travel and contact details matter from the start.

Do I need my flight number?

If you are arriving by air, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card application typically asks for transport details such as your flight number. Have your itinerary available so you can enter the transport information accurately for your mode of travel.

Can VisaPal help if I am travelling in a week?

VisaPal accepts assistance requests for arrival dates up to seven days in advance, based on Thailand calendar dates. If your arrival date is outside the official three-day TDAC submission window, VisaPal can still accept the request as a secure pre-booking and process it once it becomes eligible.

Is VisaPal the Thai Government?

No. VisaPal is an independent travel-document assistance service. It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Government of Thailand or Thailand Immigration. The official TDAC can also be completed directly through Thailand Immigration without using VisaPal.
