Thailand Digital Arrival Card FAQ

Answers to the questions travellers ask most before completing a Thailand Digital Arrival Card application.

Introduction

This Thailand Digital Arrival Card FAQ answers the Thailand arrival card questions travellers ask most often, from what the TDAC is to how VisaPal helps with a Thailand Digital Arrival Card application.

Use the sections below for quick Thailand TDAC FAQ answers, or read the fuller guides for more detail: complete TDAC guide, requirements, when to apply, how to apply and cost.

General

What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is Thailand’s digital entry form. It replaces older paper arrival cards and is submitted online through the official Thailand Immigration system where required. VisaPal does not operate that official system.

Who needs one?

Many travellers entering Thailand may need to complete a TDAC before arrival. Exact requirements can depend on your journey, so check the official travel and immigration guidance that applies to you. VisaPal helps with the application process but does not decide whether a TDAC is mandatory in every case.

Is it a visa?

No. The TDAC is an arrival card / entry form, not a visa. Completing a TDAC does not replace any visa requirement that may apply to your nationality or purpose of travel.

Is it free?

Yes. The official TDAC itself is free through Thailand Immigration. VisaPal charges only for its independent assistance service if you choose not to complete the process entirely on your own.

Applying

When can I apply?

Thailand Immigration currently allows official TDAC submission within three days before arrival, including the arrival date, using Thailand calendar dates. VisaPal accepts assistance requests up to seven days ahead. Requests outside the official window are held as secure pre-bookings until they become eligible.

Can I apply more than seven days before arrival?

Not with VisaPal at present. Arrival dates more than seven calendar days ahead in Thailand time are outside VisaPal’s booking window. Wait until your arrival date falls within range before starting an application.

What information do I need?

You typically need passport details entered exactly as shown in the passport, travel details, accommodation information for your stay, contact details, and recent travel history for the previous 14 days where required. See the requirements guide for a practical checklist.

Can I correct a mistake?

If you notice an error after submitting a VisaPal request, contact support promptly with your application reference. Whether a correction is still possible depends on how far processing has progressed. Reviewing every field carefully before payment remains the safest approach.

VisaPal

What does VisaPal do?

VisaPal is an independent assistance service. It collects the information needed for a Thailand Digital Arrival Card, prepares the application, submits it when eligible, and emails the completed TDAC to you.

Why does VisaPal charge?

Customers pay for preparation, review, submission assistance, secure handling, encrypted storage during processing, customer support and email delivery. You are not paying a Thai government fee through VisaPal.

Is VisaPal part of the Thai Government?

No. VisaPal is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Government of Thailand or Thailand Immigration. The official TDAC can also be completed directly through Thailand Immigration without using VisaPal.

What is included?

A VisaPal request includes a secure online application, preparation and review, submission when eligible, encrypted handling of sensitive information during processing, customer support relating to your request, and email delivery of the completed TDAC.

Standard vs Express?

Both options cover the same core assistance. Express is intended for higher-priority handling once payment is complete and the application is ready to process. Published processing times, where shown, are targets and not guarantees. Timing can also depend on eligibility, complete information and official system availability.

Security

How is my information protected?

Sensitive application information is encrypted before it is stored. VisaPal uses HTTPS, restricted administrator access and secure payment processing through Stripe. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

How long do you keep my information?

Sensitive TDAC application information is retained for no more than seven days from VisaPal submission and is then permanently deleted. Limited non-sensitive operational or commercial records may be kept separately where needed for payment, accounting or legal purposes.

Do you store my payment card details?

No. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. VisaPal does not store your payment card number or CVC.

Travel

Do I need accommodation booked?

You should have the accommodation details the TDAC asks for before you apply, including the address information required on the form. If your arrangements are still changing, wait until you have reliable stay details rather than guessing.

What if my plans change?

Contact VisaPal as soon as possible with your application reference if travel or accommodation details change after you submit a request. Whether an update is still possible depends on processing progress. Significant changes are easier to handle before submission.

Can I apply for my family?

VisaPal currently processes one traveller application at a time. If you are authorised to submit on behalf of another traveller, you may complete that person’s application with their accurate details. Separate applications are needed for each traveller.

What if I'm only transiting Thailand?

The TDAC form includes an option for transit passengers with no stay in Thailand. Whether a TDAC is required for your transit depends on your circumstances, so check official guidance for your journey and complete the form according to your actual travel plans.

Support

How do I contact VisaPal?

Email [email protected] with your question and, if you already have one, your VisaPal application reference.

What happens after payment?

Processing begins after successful payment and receipt of the required information. VisaPal reviews the request and submits the TDAC when your arrival date is inside the official submission window. Pre-bookings are held securely until then.

When will I receive my completed TDAC?

VisaPal emails the completed TDAC after the application has been processed and submitted when eligible. Timing depends on service level, complete information, eligibility and official system availability. Pre-bookings are not submitted until the official window opens.
